Getting There:
20 minutes inland from Kaikōura (2.5 hours north of Christchurch). Driving into the Kahutara PurePod carpark is the start of your unique PurePod adventure as you ford small streams on your way to the secure carpark near the farmhouse. Leave your large luggage items in your locked car (it will be safe) then follow the 950m walking track past the sheep in the nearby paddocks, through groves of manuka & kanuka trees and past a wetland area on your way up to the PurePod.
Dinner and Breakfast Hamper:
You have the option to bring your supplies or pre-order a dinner and breakfast package when booking. The dinner features a delightful platter of local cheeses, relishes, and crackers, along with the chef's choice of lamb, beef, or chicken. It's accompanied by a fresh seasonal salad, gourmet potatoes, and a sweet dessert. For breakfast, enjoy organic muesli with yogurt and a berry compote. You can add the hamper onto your reservation at the checkout.

Located in the midst of a beautifully isolated sheep farm high above the Kahutara River with magical views of the mighty Seaward Kaikōura Mountain Range.
The PurePod provides all your needs, from a fabulous shower and flush toilet to fresh linen and a well-equipped kitchen with a gas hob and barbecue. We also offer tea, coffee, and milk. Enjoy games, local books, and stargazing with a telescope. Relax in luxury camp chairs on the deck or lounge in the comfortable bed while nature entertains you.

Cancellation Policy
By completing this booking you confirm:
- you are aware there is a 950m walk from the carpark to the Kahutara PurePod which will take you about 15 minutes as you walk past paddocks through a grove of kanuka trees on a farm track lined with trees past a wetland area before the final gentle climb up to the PurePod.
- you are aware PurePods reserves the right to charge a fee to cover unexpected cleaning costs or damage incurred during your stay.
- you are aware should you disregard the stringent no smoking rules a fee of $300 is immediately payable.
- you are aware the maximum occupancy of the PurePod is 2 adults (no pets and no children allowed)
Amendments and Cancellations
You can amend or cancel your booking with no extra charge up to 14 days before your reserved stay. If you need to cancel your reservation and it’s between 14 and 7 days of your reserved stay we’ll refund you 50%.
If COVID-19 restrictions prevent you from travelling to your PurePod experience we will be happy to waive our normal notice period so you can postpone or cancel your stay.
A credit card processing fee of NZD20.00 may also apply to cancellations.
Any refunds will be made to the same credit card you used to confirm the booking.
