Getting There
Your journey to the Hananui PurePod starts with either a scenic 15 minute flight from Invercargill, or a 60 minute ferry ride from Bluff. On arrival on the island, walk, hire a bike or get a taxi the remaining 4km to the entrance to the Mamaku Point Conservation Reserve.
From there, it is a short 200m nature walk to the PurePod - you'll pass through the predator-proof fence so make sure to take note of the signage to ensure you do your part to ensure the safety of the bird life in the reserve.
Dinner & Breakfast Hamper
You can bring your own supplies or order a breakfast and dinner hamper made from fresh local ingredients. Dinner includes a cheese platter, main course (chicken, steak, or seafood), and sides. Breakfast is homemade granola with fruit and yogurt. You can add the hamper onto your reservation at the checkout.
Your PurePod Experience
Nestled amongst native bush behind a predator-proof fence in an eco-sanctuary on the stunning Rakiura Stewart Island, part of the southern-most Dark Sky Reserve.
You will have absolutely stunning views northwest across Lee Bay to the highest peak on the island. From beautiful sunsets, to kiwi spotting in the evening, star-gazing at night and waking to the sunshine twinkling on the sea below.
The PurePod provides all your needs, from a fabulous shower and flush toilet to fresh linen and a well-equipped kitchen with a gas hob and barbecue. We also offer tea, coffee, and milk. Enjoy games, local books, and stargazing with a telescope. Relax in luxury camp chairs on the deck or lounge in the comfortable bed while nature entertains you. "The accommodations are neat and clean with thoughtful amenities such as rain ponchos. I love the emphasis on sustainability. But the highlight is the truly gorgeous view combined with the ability to view wildlife. The view from the deck is spectacular and even had a rainbow one morning, all accompanied by a lovely dawn bird chorus. I hope to stay again. It is a truly unique and lovely place to stay".
